Job summary

STV is seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Roadway Engineer in its Transportation Division (South Carolina). The successful candidate will lead professional design for municipal, local government, and SCDOT projects, including roadway geometry, drainage, traffic control, and signing.

The role requires 5+ years in roadway design, a civil engineering degree, and SC PE license. Proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak, and Open Roads Designer is essential, with preference for SCDOT/municipal

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in roadway design.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• SC PE license is required.
• Experience with intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, or bike/ped facilities.
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and Open Roads Designer.
• Experience with SCDOT and municipalities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction with other disciplines.
• NCDOT or GDOT experience is a plus.
• Drainage, erosion control, and utility coordination experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and SCDOT.
• Provide schematic/functional designs, roadway geometry, drainage, work zone traffic control, and signing details.
• Assist with utility coordination on small to mid-sized projects.
• Interact with client management teams and marketing teams.
• Coordinate design development and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with the design team to meet quality deliverables within schedule and budget.
• Assist with specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Lead project meetings with STV and clients.
• Assist senior PMs with scopes, fees, schedules, staffing projections, risk registers, sub agreements, QC records, submittals, and invoices.
