Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation Division in North Carolina at Raleigh, Charlotte or Winston-Salem offices. The successful candidate will provide project management and professional design services for municipal, local government, and NCDOT projects, and will oversee QC for roadway geometry, drainage, work zone traffic control, and signing.

Required: 10+ years in roadway or bridge design, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and NC PE licensure (or ability

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in roadway or bridge design.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
NC PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience with design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.

Responsibilities

Provide project management and professional design services for transportation projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and NCDOT.
Manage design, provide senior-level functional designs, and provide QC for roadway geometry and details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing.
Coordinate with client management teams and other disciplines; mentor Civil design staff.
Lead project meetings and maintain scopes, fees, schedules, staffing projections, and risk registers.
Assist with development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
