Job summary

Oasis IAM in Ocala, Florida seeks a Highway Maintenance Technician I. This full-time, entry-level role trains on pothole patching, debris removal, mowing, sign repairs, and basic drainage work. Work outdoors in various weather, with possible night or weekend shifts and on-call rotations.

You will learn to set up MOT zones, operate tools and equipment, document work orders, and uphold safety standards while supporting crews to maintain safe roadways for the community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 23 years old per company insurance requirements.
• Active Florida driver's license with no restrictions; pass MVR check.
• Basic math, reading, and recordkeeping skills for logs.
• Ability to obtain MOT/Flagger certification within company timelines
• Willing to travel to different sites; live within reasonable response time
• Compliance with drug and alcohol policy; pre-employment tests may apply

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety-first mindset and follow PPE and safety protocols.
• Perform landscape maintenance: mowing, weed control, trimming.
• Clean and grade ditches and drainage structures to prevent flooding.
• Repair fences and signs and remove litter to keep highways safe.
• Inspect and operate a variety of equipment safely.
• Log maintenance work orders and checks accurately
• Load and unload equipment and materials safely
