Responsibilities

• Assists in a wide variety of maintenance tasks for roads and bridges on the state highway system.
• Operates dump trucks (5-yard) and flatbed trucks for hauling materials and equipment.
• Operates smaller equipment such as brush chippers, rollers, broom sweepers, and pipe washers as part of maintenance operations.
• Performs vegetation management to improve visibility of signage and maintains drainage ditches and pipes.
• Patches potholes, repairs shoulders, and assists in paving driveways; flags traffic to protect workers and the public.
