Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Pearsall, Texas seeks a Manager IV to lead a maintenance team, oversee contracted activities, and coordinate emergency responses. You will supervise staff, manage resources, ensure safety compliance, and uphold strong public relations with officials and the community.

The position requires extensive roadway maintenance experience, a Class A CDL with N endorsement (or ability to obtain), and a history of supervisory leadership in a government or large-scale

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 8 years roadway maintenance or construction-related work; 3 years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL with N endorsement or ability to obtain by date of application.

Responsibilities

• Administers and inspects contracted maintenance activities.
• Handles public complaints.
• Inspects road conditions and work progress by crews and contractors.
• Plans and coordinates emergency response to weather, flooding, accidents, and hazardous material spills.
• Prepares and monitors the budget.
• Prioritizes and assigns projects; ensures safety guidelines are followed.
• Oversees maintenance section office activities and equipment operations.
• Trains other employees and performs other duties as assigned.
