Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Pearsall, TX seeks a Maintenance Section Supervisor II to lead a crew responsible for safe, reliable roads within the Pearsall Sub Area. You will oversee maintenance planning, budgeting, and contract administration while ensuring safety and customer service standards.

The role requires strong leadership, at least 8 years in roadway maintenance and 3 years of supervisory experience, plus a valid Class A CDL with N endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8 years roadway maintenance or construction experience.
• 3 years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Valid driver’s license with Class A CDL and N endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Administers and inspects contracted maintenance activities.
• Inspects road conditions, work in progress and work completed by crews and contractors.
• Plans, coordinates and implements emergency response to inclement weather, flooding, accidents and hazardous material spills.
• Plans, schedules and coordinates work needs including personnel, equipment and material with the Area Engineer and district staff.
• Prepares and monitors the budget.
• Oversees maintenance section office activities including HR, PR, facilities, inventory management and admin matters.
• Oversees operation and maintenance of light and heavy equipment.
• Trains other employees.
