Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Highway Maintenance Coordinator to support planning, coordination, and evaluation of maintenance activities across an assigned area to keep roadways safe and reliable. You will oversee work plans, allocate resources, supervise staff, and engage with stakeholders to resolve concerns.

This full-time role operates Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with no telework option, and requires a valid PA driver’s license, residency, and the ability to pass a

Qualifications

• Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 or five years of highway maintenance/construction experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
• PA residency requirement and ability to perform essential job functions.
• Background investigation required.

Responsibilities

• Work Planning: Prepare plans and estimates for roadway/bridge maintenance.
• Resource Allocation: Recommend equipment, manpower, and materials.
• Field Oversight: Check work for policy, quality and plan compliance.
• Communication Support: Explain operations to employees, officials and community.
• Safety Leadership: Promote safe work practices and accident avoidance.
• Staff Management: Assign tasks, review performance, coach employees.
