Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Coordinator to plan maintenance projects, guide resources, and improve service delivery across an assigned area.

You will participate in work planning, allocate equipment and personnel, oversee field execution for policy and safety, and communicate with employees, officials, and community members. This is a full-time role with hours 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and no telework option.

Qualifications

• Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 or equivalent
• Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction
• Equivalent combination of experience and training

Responsibilities

• Work Planning: Prepare plans and estimates for a wide range of roadway and bridge maintenance activities
• Resource Allocation: Recommend use of equipment, manpower, and materials to meet program goals
• Field Oversight: Check work in progress and completed tasks for policy, quality, and plan compliance
• Communication Support: Meet with employees, officials, and community members to explain operations and resolve concerns
• Safety Leadership: Promote safe work practices and encourage proactive accident avoidance measures
• Staff Management: Assign tasks, review performance, coach employees, and help resolve workplace issues
