Job summary

South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a maintenance worker to support road and drainage projects. Qualifications

• Physical stamina for heavy manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard dump truck hauling asphalt, sand, gravel, and other maintenance materials.
• Perform drainage and roadside repairs, including curbs, basins, pipes, and ditches.
• Use small equipment (tractor mower, sweeper, roller) and hand tools for right-of-way work.
• Assist in snow/ice, debris removal, and hurricane lane reversal plans.
• Operate a snowplow during hazardous weather.
• Maintain safety to protect workers and the traveling public.
