Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking Transportation Engineering interns for summer 2026 across our Kansas offices (Wichita, Manhattan, Kansas City, Overland Park). You will assist in highway/roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation, gaining hands-on experience with design software and collaboration with senior engineers.

You will be mentored by a team of Transportation and Highway Design professionals, contribute to real projects, and develop technical and teamwork skills in a

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering
Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling is a plus)
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Organizational skills to handle multiple assignments efficiently
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from project sites
