Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Civil Intern (Highway/Roadway) to support our transportation design team in Kansas. As a summer 2026 intern, you will contribute to highway projects, traffic analysis, and plan preparation under the guidance of senior engineers.

Based in our Kansas offices (Kansas City, KS; Manhattan, KS; Overland Park, KS; or Wichita, KS), you’ll gain hands-on experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D, while developing professional skills and industry connections

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling a plus).

Responsibilities

• Assist road/highway design projects and transportation engineering tasks.
• Contribute to planning, traffic analysis, and plan preparation.
• Gain hands-on experience with engineering design software, construction documentation, and collaborative project delivery.
