Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Dallas, TX is seeking a Roadway Engineering Intern to join our Dallas office. You will provide administrative and operations support to Roadway Engineering staff and assist with plan production tasks.

As an entry-level role, you will perform simple drafting, use common office software, and learn transportation design standards in a multidisciplinary environment with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• No experience is required if accepted into a Bachelor’s degree program in a related technical field.
• Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn engineering design software.
• Interest in transportation and roadway design with a willingness to learn engineering standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operations support to Roadway Engineering staff.
• Assist engineers with Roadway plan production tasks.
• Perform simple drafting and CAD assignments following detailed instructions.
• Coordinates operation within the organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.
