Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Roadway Engineering Intern to join our Dallas office. You will support Roadway staff with administrative tasks and assist engineers in plan production and drafting, while learning standard design practices.

Ideal candidates are pursuing civil engineering with ABET-credited coursework, possess strong communication, teamwork, and MS Office skills, and are eager to learn engineering software.

Qualifications

• 60 credit hours toward a civil engineering degree from ABET-accredited program by Summer 2027
• Enrollment in a related technical field as part of a Bachelor's degree program

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Engineering Intern to join our Dallas, Texas office.

Your Role

• Provide administrative and operations support to Roadway Engineering staff.
• Assist engineers with Roadway plan production tasks.
• Perform simple drafting and CAD assignments following detailed instructions.
• Coordinates operation within the organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software

About You

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn engineering design software.
  • Interest in transportation and roadway design with a willingness to learn engineering standards and best practices.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
