Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Novi, Michigan is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. You will assist in field data handling, basic calculations and routine tasks in Bentley OpenRoads Designer while supporting engineers and technicians.

The role requires progress toward a civil engineering degree (ABET-accredited, 50 hours by start). CAD/Drafting skills and data-entry ability are helpful; prior OpenRoads experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 50 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
• Basic understanding of transportation engineering principles and design.
• Computation, math skills and drafting/CAD ability are generally required.
• Computer skills required to enter data and information in spreadsheets or databases.
• Preference to applicants who have CAD/OpenRoads Designer experience.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, logs and summarizes field notes or other data for technical studies.
• Establishes and maintains records or files of technical data or documents.
• Performs mathematical calculations.
• Performs routine tasks in Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Assists in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.
