Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. invites current Civil Engineering students to join the Road Group as a summer Road Intern in Dallas, TX. You will assist with roadway design, quantity takeoffs, plan sets with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, and cost estimates under mentor guidance.

You'll gain hands-on experience across interstates, urban streets, roundabouts, and rural roads while building technical skills and exploring a future in civil engineering with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering or related program with focus on civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to roadway design by performing calculations, layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity/cost estimates.
• Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling and tools like MicroStation/GEOPAK, Bluebeam, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Participate in a variety of projects from interstates to urban streets and rural roads.
• Support team with routine tasks and other duties as assigned.

American Structurepoint's Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Dallas, TX! As a Road Intern, you'll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for TXDOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Texas. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you'll gain hands‑on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.

Qualifications

Who you are:

• Current student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or a related program with a focus on Civil Engineering
• Reliable transportation to and from the office
