Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join the Transportation Group in Fairfax, VA, Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA or Virginia Beach, VA offices. The role focuses on roadway design within a team of professionals, offering hands-on project experience and opportunities for growth.

The intern will work on transportation engineering tasks, learn to develop plans and analyses, and participate in workshops and program activities typical of a summer internship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Previous Transportation focused internship experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in MS Office software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway design tasks as part of the transportation engineering team.
• Support development of contract plans for various project types and clients.
• Collaborate with engineers to prepare design calculations and drawings.
