Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Transportation Group in Fairfax, VA and other Virginia offices. The intern will have opportunities to work on roadway design under the supervision of experienced engineers and contribute to a range of transportation projects.

Housing stipends may be provided for eligible candidates. This internship offers hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to industry-leading practices

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Previous Transportation focused internship experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Roadway: assist design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and traffic maintenance schemes.
• Prepare contract plans for a variety of project types and clients.
• Collaborate with team to deliver transportation projects.
