Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Highway Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Bloomfield, NJ office to work on roadway design, assist with contract documents, and apply industry standards.

The internship provides hands-on project experience, exposure to CADD software, and the opportunity to collaborate with a professional team on public and private sector projects. Interns gain mentorship and participate in workshops, contributing to real client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing BS in Civil Engineering.
• Familiarity with NJDOT and NJ Turnpike Authority design standards and practices.
• Familiarity with AASHTO and MUTCD.
• Proficiency in MS Office software, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare contract documents for roadway improvement projects.
• Assist with roadway and highway design in Bloomfield, NJ.
• Utilize CADD software to support project delivery.
