Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Transportation Group across multiple Virginia offices. The role offers exposure to roadway design, drainage, and project documentation, with potential housing stipend for eligible candidates.

The intern will work with a team of engineers to gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills, and contribute to real projects in Fairfax, VA, Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA or Virginia Beach, VA.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Previous Transportation focused internship experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in roadway design efforts including horizontal/vertical alignments.
• Support drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control tasks.
• Prepare contract plans for various project types and clients.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver quality engineering work.
