Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This is not a remote position.

The role focuses on developing roadway designs, planning, cost estimates, and ensuring regulatory compliance across projects in the Orlando area. You will collaborate with design teams, obtain permits, and contribute to construction support and environmental considerations.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience with roadway design and traffic engineering standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed roadway designs in collaboration with the design team.
  • Prepare project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  • Select materials and prepare road construction specifications.
  • Create alignments and geometry for roads and intersections.
  • Obtain permits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support during construction and review plans.
  • Conduct inspections and quality control on design implementations.
  • Incorporate stormwater and environmental considerations into design.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
