Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Wesley Chapel, FL office invites a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of roadway design experience to join the Roadway team. This on-site role focuses on developing detailed roadway designs, inspecting plans, and coordinating with design teams and clients.

You will manage design deliverables, work with local agencies, and apply Civil 3D, MicroStation, Open Roads, and AutoCAD to projects while ensuring schedule and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Experience and relationships with local agencies and/or local municipalities preferred.
• Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards and traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop detailed roadway designs and ensure compliance with regulations and project specs.
• Manage or help manage design delivery and profitability while addressing design issues.
• Assist in developing project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure.
• Select materials and prepare engineering specifications for road construction and maintenance.
• Create alignments and geometric designs for roads and intersections with safety considerations.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
• Provide technical support during construction and review plans for issues.
• Conduct inspections and quality control to ensure standards are met.
• Incorporate environmental considerations such as stormwater management and impact assessments.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules and build external relationships.
