Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our Roadway team in Orlando, Florida. The role focuses on developing concepts, preliminary engineering, and final design for projects using CAD software.

You will create technical drawings, perform quality checks on complex plans, and maintain drawing databases. Opportunities to supervise CAD staff and collaborate across disciplines are available within our established practices and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and perform preliminary engineering and final design for projects, including geometric alignments, profiles, surface modeling, grading design, drainage, and signing and striping plans.
• Develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and perform multifaceted calculations.
• Work with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks.
• Maintain drawing database and coordinate work activities to meet schedules and ensure quality control.
• May supervise and train CAD staff; familiarize with Kimley-Horn's practices and standards.
