Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Raleigh, North Carolina office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This on-site opportunity offers mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions as you contribute to road design and multimodal projects.

The ideal candidate holds a ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree and an EIT/Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months), with proficiency in

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from ABET-accredited university in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Working knowledge of Civil design software (MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D).
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Support various project managers with civil engineering tasks.
• Design horizontal/vertical alignments, grading, drainage, and roadway improvements.
• Create multimodal designs including trails and complete streets.
• Prepare signage, striping, and signalization plans.
• Receive mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
