Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Irving, Texas is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This on-site role will involve supporting project managers with civil design tasks, including roadway alignments, drainage, and multimodal design.

You will gain mentorship, on-the-job training, and exposure to plan production and client interactions. ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and Engineer-In-Training certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months) are

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a civil engineering design firm
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with civil engineering tasks, including alignments, grading and drainage design
• Contribute to streetscape and roadway improvements
• Assist with multimodal design including trails and complete streets
• Assist with signage, striping and signalization plans
• Participate in plan production, project financials, and client interactions
