Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Orange, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This is not a remote position.

You will support project managers on horizontal/vertical alignments, drainage design, and multimodal street improvements, with mentoring and on-the-job training. We offer a robust benefits package, a commitment to professional development, and a culture that values initiative and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience at a civil engineering design firm.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to project managers across various civil engineering tasks.
• Assist with horizontal and vertical alignments, grading and drainage design, and streetscape improvements.
• Contribute to multimodal design including trails and complete streets; participate in plan production and client interactions.
