Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Orange, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join the Roadway team in an on-site role.

The position involves supporting project managers with a range of civil engineering tasks, including alignments, drainage design, streetscape improvements, and multimodal design. ABET-accredited degree, EIT/Intern certification preferred or obtainable within 12 months.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience at a civil engineering design firm.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Earned Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification or able to obtain within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with civil engineering tasks across multiple projects.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, grading and drainage designs.
• Contribute to streetscape, roadway improvements and multimodal design.
• Prepare signage, striping and signalization plans and related documents.
