Job summary

HNTB is seeking a driven roadway engineer student to contribute to highway design and project documentation in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. You will assist in design development, cost estimates, schedules, and specifications, gaining hands-on experience with Civil 3D and presentation materials.

The role emphasizes collaboration with environmental, structural, and transportation-planning professionals while supporting design through submittal and construction phases.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
• Two years of post-secondary Civil Engineering study preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and basic engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of highway and roadway projects.
• Produce highway design projects through design submittal or construction phases.
• Assist in preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and final designs with documentation.
• Support development of specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Prepare roadway design elements including alignments, profiles and Civil 3D corridors.
• Create presentation materials for meetings.
• Assist in public presentations and workshops.
• Collaborate with environmental, structural, and transportation-planning teams.
