Job summary

HNTB is seeking an Intern Technician to support bridge and roadway projects in a central states office. The role involves CAD drafting, plan production, and information gathering under supervision. Part-time or co-op scheduling is typical for this internship.

Qualified applicants are High School graduates or current students in post-secondary programs with interest in transportation and infrastructure. Relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program.
• One year of relevant experience.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
• Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes CAD software to assist in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
• Transfers information from survey data, legal descriptions, aerial photos, and computer files to final plans and maps.
• Visualizes and illustrates concepts in 2D or 3D using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Performs tasks under supervision or from detailed procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
