Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to support roadway and bridge construction projects in the Atlanta area. You will assist senior inspectors, review plans, monitor quality, and document findings across varied field sites.

The role requires interpreting technical drawings, achieving GDOT certifications, and maintaining a valid US driver’s license. Expect some night/weekend work and collaborative coordination with contractors and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 2 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 5 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience; may count as OVF or employee.
• Must obtain GDOT certifications and pass tests within ~6 months as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors with construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Monitor field activities for compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes and inspect roadways, structures and drainage.
• Observe material sampling/testing verifications ( soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Promote safety practices in all construction activities.
