Job summary
Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to assist with transportation construction oversight in our Georgia-area projects. You will review plans, monitor compliance, and support QA/QC activities on roadways, bridges, and drainage systems.
The role requires a Civil Engineering degree (or related), several years of field inspection experience, and the ability to obtain GDOT certifications within six months. Night and weekend work may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 2 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience
- Associate degree +5 years roadway/bridge inspection experience
- High school diploma +7 years roadway/bridge inspection experience
- Ability to obtain GDOT certifications within 6 months
- Proficient reading of construction documents and specs
- Valid US driver’s license with MV R check
Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Inspectors in construction oversight and inspection tasks
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
- Monitor activities for quality and compliance with standards
- Conduct field audits of ICQA processes
- Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage per project requirements
- Observe materials testing and sampling (soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete)
- Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams
- Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports
- Uphold safety practices on construction sites
