Kimley-Horn in Denton, Texas is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of roadway design experience to join our Roadway team. This is not a remote position.

You will collaborate with design professionals to develop detailed roadway designs, perform feasibility studies, and estimate project costs while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you manage multiple projects and coordinate with jurisdictions and contractors.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of roadway design standards and traffic engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; teamwork oriented.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team to develop roadway designs that meet specs.
• Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Prepare materials and specs for road construction and maintenance.
• Create road alignments and geometric designs prioritizing safety and accessibility.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities.
• Support construction with plan reviews and issue resolution.
• Conduct inspections and QA for design standards.
• Incorporate stormwater management and environmental considerations.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
