Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Roadway team. This is not a remote position and you will work on a variety of transportation projects with cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires a PE license or progress toward it, proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads/AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and a strong understanding of roadway design standards and traffic engineering principles. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficient with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of roadway design standards and traffic engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and team-oriented work style.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed roadway designs with the design team.
• Prepare project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Create alignments and geometry for roads and intersections.
• Obtain permits and coordinate with authorities for roadway projects.
• Provide construction support and review plans during implementation.
• Conduct inspections and ensure design standards and specs are met.
• Incorporate environmental considerations like stormwater management.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors on various projects.
