Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This is not a remote position and you will work closely with a full design and engineering group on diverse transportation projects in the Phoenix area.

The ideal candidate holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license and is proficient with Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, applying civil and traffic engineering principles to deliver safe, cost-effective roadway

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach to work, able to function well in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop detailed roadway designs compliant with regulations and standards.
  • Assist in developing project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure.
  • Select materials and prepare engineering specifications for road construction and maintenance.
  • Create alignments and geometric designs for roads and intersections prioritizing safety and accessibility.
  • Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
  • Provide technical support during construction, reviewing plans and addressing design issues.
