Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Melbourne, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This is not a remote position.

You will collaborate with a design team to develop roadway designs, participate in feasibility studies, cost estimates, and provide technical support during construction. A PE license is required or obtainable within 12 months. Work alongside jurisdictions and contractors to deliver multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of civil engineering design experience for roadway projects.
  • P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proficient with Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop roadway designs compliant with regulations and project specs.
  • Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure.
  • Select materials and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance.
  • Create alignments and geometric designs for roads and intersections.
  • Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
  • Provide technical support during construction and review plans.
  • Conduct inspections and quality control checks.
  • Integrate environmental considerations, including stormwater management.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, jurisdictions, and contractors.
