Kimley-Horn's Denton, Texas office seeks a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of roadway design experience to join the Roadway team. This is not a remote position and requires collaboration with designers, jurisdictions, and contractors on a variety of transportation projects.

The role emphasizes detailed roadway design, project planning, cost estimates, permits, and construction support while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering design experience.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop roadway designs and ensure compliance with regulations and project specs.
• Develop project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure.
• Select materials and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance.
• Create alignments and geometry for roads, intersections, and transportation facilities with safety in mind.
• Obtain necessary permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
• Provide technical support during construction and review plans and progress.

• Incorporate environmental considerations, including stormwater management and impact assessments.
