Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Peachtree Corners, GA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. You will collaborate with the design team to develop efficient roadway designs, perform feasibility studies, cost estimates, and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance.

You will also create alignments for roads, obtain permits, provide construction support, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering design experience
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop roadway designs meeting regulations and project specs
• Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway projects
• Select materials and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance
• Create alignments and geometric designs for roads and intersections
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects
• Provide technical support during construction and review plans for issues
• Conduct inspections and QC checks to ensure design standards compliance
• Incorporate environmental considerations such as stormwater management
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules
• Collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors on various projects
