Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Chamblee, Georgia office seeks a Civil Engineer with 4+ years to join the Roadway team. You will develop detailed roadway designs and ensure compliance with local regulations and project specs.

You will assist in project plans, cost estimates, material selection, and constructability reviews, with opportunities to monitor progress and collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors. PE licensure or progress toward it within 12 months is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• P.E. license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team to develop detailed roadway designs and ensure compliance with local regulations and project specifications.
• Assist in developing project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure projects.
• Select materials and prepare engineering specifications for road construction and maintenance.
• Create alignments and geometric designs for roads, intersections, and transportation facilities with safety and accessibility in mind.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical support during construction, including plan reviews and overseeing progress.
