Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Scottsdale office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of roadway design experience to join our Roadway team in person. The role focuses on developing detailed roadway designs, cost estimates, and materials specifications while maintaining compliance with regulations.

You will collaborate with a design team, prepare alignments, obtain necessary permits, and support construction with plan reviews.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop roadway designs per standards.
• Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Prepare specifications and select materials for road projects.
• Create alignments and geometric designs for roads and intersections.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
• Provide technical support during construction and review plans.
• Conduct inspections and quality control to ensure design compliance.
• Monitor budgets and schedules for multiple projects.
• Build internal and external relationships with jurisdictions and contractors.
• Stay updated on roadway engineering trends and regulations.
