Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Downtown Indianapolis, IN office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This role focuses on a variety of roadway projects and requires a PE license or the ability to obtain within 12 months.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers and designers on INDOT and municipal projects in a fast-paced environment. The position is on-site with opportunities to work closely with clients, jurisdictions, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of roadway design experience for INDOT, local municipality, or public transit agency projects.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a wide range of roadway projects for INDOT and local agencies.
  • Develop detailed roadway designs in collaboration with the design team.
  • Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare engineering specifications and material selections for road projects.
  • Create alignments and geometric designs ensuring safety and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and project specifications.
