Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, GA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. The role focuses on developing detailed roadway designs, feasibility studies, estimates, and specifications to support transportation projects in collaboration with design teams and external agencies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and adaptable team player.
• Not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop roadway designs and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Develop project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway projects.
• Prepare specifications and select materials for road construction and maintenance.
• Create alignments and geometric designs for roads and intersections.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
• Provide technical support during construction and review plans.
• Conduct inspections and quality control checks.
• Incorporate environmental considerations into roadway design.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, jurisdictions, and contractors.
