Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Scottsdale office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This is not a remote position, and you will work closely with a team of engineers and designers on diverse roadway projects.

The role requires a PE license or the ability to obtain within 12 months, and proficiency with Microstation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. You will collaborate across jurisdictions and contractors while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • P.E. license or able to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proficiency with Microstation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of roadway design standards and traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design team to develop detailed roadway designs per regulations and standards.
  • Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure.
  • Select materials and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance.
  • Create alignments and geometry for roads and intersections with safety considerations.
  • Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including plan reviews and issue resolution.
  • Conduct inspections and QC to ensure design standards are met.
  • Incorporate environmental considerations like stormwater and environmental impact assessments.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
