Kimley-Horn's Peachtree Corners, GA office seeks a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of roadway design experience to join the Roadway team.

You will collaborate with design teams to develop efficient roadway designs, prepare plans, estimates, and specifications, and ensure compliance with local regulations and standards. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and problem solving across projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering principles.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop roadway designs meeting regulations and standards.
• Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway projects.
• Select materials and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance.
• Create alignment and geometric designs for roads and intersections.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects.
• Provide technical support during construction and review plans for issues.
• Conduct inspections and QC checks to ensure design standards are met.
• Incorporate environmental considerations, like stormwater management, into designs.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.
