Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Battery Service Technician to deliver world-class roadside battery service to members. You will test batteries, install replacements, provide jump starts, and assist members with battery-related diagnostics while ensuring safety and high service standards.

The role emphasizes clear communication of battery program benefits, accurate diagnostic reporting, and timely response to dispatched service requests. A valid driver’s license and DOT pre-hire screening are required.

Qualifications

• High School GED or equivalent required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Active and valid driver’s license (one state/Jurisdiction).
• DOT card required pre-hire and maintained during employment.
• Satisfactorily pass motor vehicle record check.

Responsibilities

• Respond to member requests for service and provide ETA information.
• Answer dispatch calls and communicate with members and dispatch for location and issues.
• Assess safety at arrival and ensure safe conditions for service.
• Greet members, reassure anxious customers, and clearly explain battery program benefits.
• Perform battery testing, diagnostics, and on-site maintenance as trained.
• Provide minor mechanical assistance and battery replacements when within scope.
