Job summary

AAA Northeast is seeking a Battery Service Tech to support and promote our battery program and provide safe, world-class roadside service for members. You will respond to service requests, test batteries, install replacements, and educate members on battery care while maintaining vehicle readiness and safety.

The role involves diagnostic testing, recommending battery types, and ensuring high member satisfaction with timely responses and professional interaction.

Qualifications

• GED is required for this role.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics is preferred.
• Active and valid driver’s license is required.
• Must obtain and maintain a DOT card pre-hire.
• Satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre-hire and employment.

Responsibilities

• Responds to member requests for service and ETA coordination.
• Assesses scene safety and vehicle location on arrival.
• Greets members and manages emotional state to ensure a positive experience.
• Communicates battery program details and recommends battery types.
• Performs battery testing and on-the-spot battery replacement when needed.
• Maintains service vehicle and equipment in good working order.
• Operates laptop to record activity, invoicing, and inventory.
• Ensures safety and adherence to club policies during roadside tasks.
