Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to operate power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade materials across road projects. This intermediate role requires hands-on operation, safety awareness and teamwork on demanding sites.

Responsibilities include loading, hauling, trenching, and maintaining equipment while following project and safety rules. Candidates should be able to work long hours in outdoor conditions and pass pre-employment drug testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Experience with trenching or conduit installation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade material on road projects.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for conduit, water, and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Instruct/train others in safe operation and job techniques as needed.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify defects or issues.
