Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a skilled equipment operator to support road construction and maintenance projects. You will operate heavy construction equipment to excavate, load, grade, and move materials, and perform routine maintenance and safety checks on site.

Responsibilities include loading, trenching for pipes, and mentoring workers in safe operation. Candidates should be able to work irregular hours and tolerate outdoor conditions on busy construction sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with field experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of maintaining fluid levels and lubrication.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment to excavate, move, and grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be asked to instruct and train employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools and in job techniques and skills.
