Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced equipment operator to perform maintenance and construction tasks on roads and rights-of-way. You will operate vehicles and heavy equipment, load materials, grade surfaces, and trench when needed.

The role requires attention to safety, accurate reading of instructions, and the ability to work with supervision. Must be prepared for variable hours and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment for road maintenance and rights-of-way work.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and water/sewer pipes; clear debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• May train other employees in safe operation and job techniques.
