Job summary

Kiewit Corporation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain roads and rights-of-way, load and spread materials, and trench for utilities. This role requires operating various vehicles and performing inspections and simple repairs.

Applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to follow complex instructions, and strong safety awareness. The work is on-site on construction sites with exposure to outdoor conditions and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and water/ sewer pipes.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• Instruct and train others in safe operation and job techniques.
• Inspect equipment for defects and address issues.
