Job summary

Alliance Material Handling Inc. is seeking experienced forklift mechanics to join our field service team in Chesapeake, VA. You will start your day from home and visit customer sites, with a company-provided truck and independent fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Experience as forklift, diesel, or equipment technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Your own tools.
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs and work in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts (electric, gas, LP).
• Service industrial batteries and chargers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Travel to customer sites throughout the day.
• Communicate directly with customers on repairs and recommendations.
• All other responsibilities/duties as assigned.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a field-based position. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Chesapeake, Virginia, as they will travel directly to customer locations throughout the territory. This is not a remote position.

Compensation: Starting at $24/hr, based on experience
