Job summary

Alliance Material Handling is seeking experienced forklift mechanics/field service technicians to operate in the Akron area. This field-based role starts from home, travels to customer sites, and includes a company-provided truck with a gas card. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Akron, Ohio; remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience as forklift mechanic, diesel mechanic, or equipment technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts (electric, gas, LP).
• Service industrial batteries and chargers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Travel to customer sites throughout the day.
• Communicate repairs and recommendations directly with customers.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a field-based position. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Akron, Ohio, as they will travel directly to customer locations throughout the territory. This is not a remote position.Compensation: Starting at $24/hr, based on experience. We’re looking for experienced forklift mechanics/field service technicians to join our team. You will start your day from home and go directly to customer sites - no daily shop reporting! We offer competitive pay, independence, and a company-provided truck.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts (electric, gas, LP)
• Service industrial batteries and chargers
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Travel to customer sites throughout the day
• Communicate directly with customers on repairs and recommendations
• All other responsibilities/duties as assigned

What You Need

• Experience as a forklift mechanic, diesel mechanic, or equipment technician

• Ability to work independently in the field
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Ability to lift up to 100lbs and work in various positions
